An Australian friend recently asked me to describe living in NYC in one sentence. I wondered if I could do the same for my own life. While it seemed a tall order to capture the ups and downs, injuries, adventures, loves, “losts” and everything in between in one sentence, the answer was simple…

“thank God I surf.”

I left a stable career as a mechanical engineer at 23 to chase waves around the world and haven’t looked back since. It’s been an adventure to say the least and I couldn’t imagine life any other way…

This blog is a reflection of the things that fill the time between swells. Based in NYC there’s a lot of distractions to keep me busy so I’ve done my best to categorize the posts. Thankgodisurf.com was formed as a daily reminder just how good life is when you slide on waves. There is a strong emphasis on sharing the experience with others.
